As of January 1, 2008 * State of Georgia Only*
All those contracting services for hire in the State of Georgia, Residential or Commercial, for any amount in excess of $2,500 will be required to have a Georgia Contracting License.
Included for Licensing are:
Any persons, intending to perform work as a residential, commercial contractor or general contractor, for compensation, contracts to, offers to undertake or undertakes to, submits a bid or a proposal to, or personally or by others performs the construction or the management of the construction of improvements to real property for an owner, including the construction or improvement of, addition to, or the repair, alteration, remodeling, or demolition of any building, bridge, or other structure, including related improvements to the real property, for use by the owner or by others or for resale to others.
The term "contractor" shall include a person who contracts to, undertakes to, or submits a bid or proposal to perform, or otherwise does himself or herself perform, for an owner.
